I've used other BluRay players, but I'm surprised by how smoothly Panasonic DMP-BD65 operates.The disc drive opens easily, without delays; it starts up promptly, and you can set it up so that it remains on standby and will start even more quickly. I love the elegance of the options menu, and especially of the network menu. You can revisit the main menu at any time for finer adjustments on video output, audio, resolution etc. Panasonic DMP-BD65 is excellent if you want to get into network and streaming movies. Quality and everything else for the price is unbeatable.
You can get unlimited free streaming movies with Netflix, documentaries, and TV shows from their "Watch Instantly" library, if you are a current subscriber. There's also Amazon on Demand - tons of movies and content to rent, buy, or even view free trailers and documentaries Simply activate online at Amazon and you are there - very easy on screen user friendly menus. Then there's a weather forecast available, enter your zip code and set to default, or store multiple sites across the US for up to date weather news and info. Very handy. You can share pictures with friends and family, look at your own, and other albums on your TV with Picasa Web albums. Bloomberg shows you stock updates from various markets around the world.
